The How of Business Podcast - Review

Simple, solid and on point!
The Creative Battles Review series of books and podcasts that we started over the summer was largely based on feedback I had been getting at in person events and feedback from artists and creatives. Feedback about imposter syndrome, self-doubt and loneliness that were commonly shared by most solo entrepreneurs where most days they only see themselves in the context of their business, passions and creative work. This isolation is a common theme and well understood challenge for small businesses. I created and sourced these podcasts and books based on recommendations to see if they would work to help to cover any of these challenges. Either by giving advice support or general input. The next podcast that we’ve reviewed I feel falls well into the helpful category. The How of Business Podcast was started in 2016 and has over 600 episodes. Hosted by Henry Lopez, they can be interviews or informational and educational solo topics. With all our reviewed we reviewed The How of Business Podcast on Apple podcasts. We reviewed the last five episodes varying between 14- and 44-minutes length. (Episodes, 17/08 – 24/08 – 31/08 – 14/09 – 22/09).
Tips, Tricks and experience!
This is a good podcast. I want to start with that because I feel the content and the way that the content is presented is very much in my personal wheelhouse. The episodes are very straight forward in their content and their focus. The reviewed episodes were both interviews, several solo hosted educational content. Both approached the content and the delivery with a clear goal of sharing knowledge information and ideas with small business owners should want to know. Three of the episodes with just the host, was his sharing of good knowledge tricks and checklists covering, really valid and important topics like Due Diligence in purchasing a business, when to not start a business, and how to build trust, and why trust matters in a small business relationship. This is gold right there in five episodes. The content was excellent and well delivered with nuance, checklists and good discussions with minimal fluff and unnecessary add Ons. I really appreciated those episodes covering important areas with direct and well details discussed language while being accessible without the common padding that much online content comes with. You have a check list for me great tell me about it; I don’t need to know your grandma’s pecan pie recipe in this discussion. The host clearly has experience in running, buying businesses. He discusses his failures and his successes and shares experience readily in the podcast. I find him believable and trustworthy,
The interview podcasts are also interesting as not only is he discussing with skilled professionals about their stories and experiences, but he’s also looking at software products, in the two reviewed episodes, that should be of interest for the people who listen to his show. The software that might support a small business professional. So also looking at and sharing good products for the community that he has built up.
Summary
With this podcast, I felt that the content is bang on point to the type of support that I have started Department45.eu to deliver and in a format that I agree with, down to earth tangible and detailed. I’m happy to see a podcast like this providing the information to the community. This is a great follow if you’re happy with podcasts and can spare the minutes. I feel his catalogue will have a lot of good and impotent topics that will help give perspective to many solo entrepreneurs that are looking at challenges on the daily with few people to call for help. Give the How of Business some time to see if it can help you.
