Reviews
Department 45 is a small consulting company based in Lisbon Portugal, that has been built to focus on small business owners, and specifically small creative, artists, and craftspeople. These solo entrepreneurs and micro businesses are often without resources and good support building their dreams and futures. We see it as part of our mission and goals to enable these creators, and creatives, with both our knowledge and consulting support, as well as reviewing things in our environment that can help the community further. These reviews which are posted free and clear on our website, and via our social media.
Media, tools, and influencers
Our reviews cover a wide range of resource and scopes.
We review many knowledge resources, such as books, podcasts, websites, and videos, looking to understand what of these resources contain, information and knowledge that is relevant for our audience, of small creatives.
Software and applications for use in small businesses are also review subject. Where we see if these applications are worth investing in and at what conditions and at what scale, and for what business types.
Social media is of course a beast no small business can afford to ignore, and we look for both the content on the social media, to see if it’s helpful or harmful, we seek out the right creators for our audience to follow and we also look at the social medias themselves wholly to see if they can provide benefits to some or all of our clients and audience.
We will look at services and service providers, where possible. Things like accounting services, software tools that do these activities as well as review markets.
We’re also looking at the physical world where, we do reviews of Markets, and locations within Lisbon itself and elsewhere to see if these markets are well run and are worth your time.
Content and Guidelines
Integrity is important to us and therefore we’re putting forward the following guidelines that we follow for our reviews for clarity for our readers as well as accountability for ourselves.
Our reviews will always strive to:
No Financial or personal relationships, we will ensure that no review will be done on a purchased basis as review items or media will be sourced by our own finances.
No Incentives will be accepted for reviews either.
Focused Content on a review will be limited to the product, service or similar under review we will not seek to color our review due to any secondary elements unrelated to the product.
We will strive to be specific, relevant, and focused in our language and tone.
We will be objective to the product giving clear pros cons.
We will operate or use any product or service as intended and review it based on that use.
We will be fair and clear in our feedback basing opinions and ideas on evidence or context.
Critique when existent will be fair and constructive, to highlight Strengths, gaps weaknesses.
